New Border Measures
Border measures for new entry of foreign nationals have been lifted. The visa exemption measures, which had been temporarily suspended due to the border measures under COVID-19 pandemic, were resumed at 0am JST on October 11, 2022. The Entrants, Returnees Follow-up Systems (ERFS) is also no longer required. For details, please visit the MOFA web page.

If you are a traveler from a country requiring a VISA (country not listed as visa exemption countries), please contact LOC (spw10-visa@kwasan.kyoto-u.ac.jp) as soon as possible.

Here are some tips.
- Everyone must submit the questionnaire.
- Pre-departure test, on-arrival test and self-isolation will be required depending on the country or regions of your stay before arriving in Japan and on your vaccination status.
- Be careful about the format of the required document such as the pre-departure test and the vaccination certificate.
- You are fully advised to carefully check the latest information and confirm the required documents.
Sanitary Measures at Kyoto University
- All persons are requested to wear masks in the Kyoto University campus.
- If you have any COVID-19 symptom (fever, cough etc.), please inform to LOC immediately. Please do not attend the meeting on site. See Kyoto Novel Coronavirus Medical Consultation Center and contact them (075-414-5487, Open between 10 am and 8 pm, 365 days a year).
- Please note that there is a limit to the number of people in the meeting hall, and if the number exceeds the limit, admission may be denied.
